Meet the new runners - Deborah

Deborah runs with us in Flagstaff, Arizona. She writes:

"In the last 6 months I have gained a few pounds, feel sluggish and soft. I WANT to get back into a routine, now that school is in session and I have the days to do this. I'd like to run pain free. The weather is cooling and that's better for me (I live in Arizona, in Flagstaff at 7,000 feet... not super hot, but hot enough for my tastes) for the outdoor runs. I have just run on my own, with no plan or training schedule, but think that a challenge would be good. No, it would be GREAT!"

Meet the new runners - FIONA

My name is Fiona. I'm from Scotland but have been living in North Vancouver, BC for almost 4 years (my husband is Canadian). I've been running since my first year at university which I refuse to believe was 11 years ago ... eek! I run because I love the way it makes me feel and I can't imagine not doing it. I run to clear my head, blow away cobwebs and to counteract my weakness for good food, wine and chocolate. I run because I love to listen to my baby blabbering and singing on our runs together *sigh*.

I've attached a picture of my running partner and I taken before we hit the trails this morning.

I'm looking forward to this challenge and am excited to join your community!

Many thanks,

Fiona

No pic of Shana, but she's here

She writes:
I'm living this year in the Hague, where I've just moved from Washington, DC and looking for new places to run and running partners. I've been running for several years on and off, but want to work to increase speed and distance, and am feeling like I need some inspiration on that end. Thanks so much for including me!

Meet the new runners - Caren

Like wise people sometimes do, Caren in Seattle started running to stay sane.

She writes:
I live in Seattle Washington and my name is Caren Gillespie. I am a mother of 2 (2year old Sadie and 5 year old Max). I started running last November to help with a serious bout of Insomnia. I came to like it and hate it at the same time but being a busy mom, it was the only time I got to myself somedays. I started running in the winter at around 6:45 in the morning while it was still dark out which was a rush. I don't have a picture of where I run perse because I choose a lot of different routes depending on the mood.

Meet the new runners - Christine

Christine runs with us in Canada.

She writes "I'm running in Montréal, Québec, Canada. I'm a 28-year-old graphic and web designer. I'm hoping to get myself sufficiently into the running habit before winter strikes, at which time I'll have to figure out how to run in major snow – or find a gym!"
